Car Plummets Seven Stories Off Sands Casino Parking Deck

Update: The Express-Times has photos of the car pre tarp!

Update 2: The man has died! :( Hopefully some of these answers to what happened come out soon.

Update 3: The man has been identified as Robert Jaimson, 21, from Lower Macungie Township. Facebook profile.

I think there are two types of people; those who want to see what’s under the tarp on the side of the road and those who do not.

I kinda want to see what’s under this tarp!

The car went off the top of the Sands Casino deck (right? That’s the seventh story isn’t it?) and boom pow splat!

So what are the votes on this one? Drunk? High? Mob hit?

I’m going with really bad Asian driver.

A vehicle plunged seven stories off the top deck of the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem parking garage about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, seriously injuring the driver.

The vehicle landed about 50 feet from the deck near traffic lanes for a surface parking lot.

Bethlehem police Capt. David Kravatz said the driver, a male in his early 20s, was taken to the trauma unit at St. Luke’s Hospital-Fountain Hill.

At least a half dozen police and fire vehicles from Bethlehem were on scene, and a large tarp covered the vehicle.

A news helicopter was hovering over the casino. SOURCE

Why put a tarp over it? Everyone wants to see it! It’d be a good visual to use to keep other people from driving off the casino roof.

Also, you would think that this person would have to be driving at a pretty good clip to be able to get past the safety bars. They were designed to keep cars, you know, ON the deck so I’m pretty curious what the whole story here ends up being.

In the meantime, someone take that tarp off so we can see the carnage.
