Dent Leading Callahan!!! OMG ELECTION IN SEVEN MONTHS!

What will you be doing in seven months besides slaving away at your job, doing the same boring bullshit you do on a daily basis and probably talking to you friends about the new season of some stupid TV that serves as your vicarious life?

Well, apparently, in seven months Charlie Dent is going to beat John Callahan to keep his seat in Congress because about 300 people polled this week said so.

Ugh…

With the election six months away, a new poll that gives Republican Charlie Dent a 43 percent to 31 percent lead over Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan in the Lehigh Valley’s 15th Congressional District suggests a competitive race.

Sound counterintuitive?

Not so, experts say. This far out, a poll that gives an incumbent like Dent less than 50 percent support, reports roughly a third of voters are undecided and shows the Democratic challenger with respectable approval ratings suggests a tight contest.

”This looks to me on paper, at least in the early polling, like the competitive race a lot of people expect it to be,” said Muhlenberg College political scientist Chris Borick, who conducted the survey for The Morning Call.

That said, six months is an eternity in a congressional campaign.

In a three-way race with independent Jake Towne, Dent leads Callahan 38 percent to 27 percent, while Towne gets 4 percent. About one in three voters is undecided. Subtract Towne from the equation, and Dent leads 43 percent to 31 percent. Add in undecided voters who are leaning toward a candidate, and Dent leads 45 percent to 33 percent.

The poll of 303 likely voters provides a baseline for the hotly contested midterm election. Conducted between April 19 and Tuesday, it has a margin of error of 6 percentage points.  Source

 OH suck a carrot, Callahan and go back to your sandbox to play with your toys while all the important decisions in Bethlehem are actually made by your crotchety old city council and you just sign on them. I know how to run a government.
