Ambulance Driver Drives Drunk to Emergency Call

image

Somebody better call the Wahhhhhhhhmbulance!

I know, I know that joke isn’t exactly contextually correct, but man, when’s the last time someone pulled that one out?

In any event, if you’re driving people to the hospital, don’t be boozing.

A drunk Hackettstown ambulance driver had agreed to cover a fellow volunteer’s shift and was arrested after arriving to an emergency call smelling of alcohol, authorities said.
James Rigney Jr., 39, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 when he drove the Hackettstown First Aid and Rescue Squad ambulance about 9 p.m. Wednesday to an emergency call at an apartment complex on Vans Drive, said police Sgt. Darren Tynan.
Squad Chief Kevin Ficarra said that Rigney earlier today resigned and handed in his equipment. He had been with the squad about a year.
Rigney initially caught police attention when he drove past the apartment complex, then drove the wrong way into the one-way entrance, Tynan said.SOURCE: The Express-Times
Ooh, ooh! Next time you see a very attractive female EMS person driving an ambulance, you should say, “Woah, did somebody call the DAMMMNNNbulance?!?! Because, DAMN, you just answered my heart’s 911.”

That’s how it’s done!

Also, I know a few EMS workers and they are all going to say, “THIS GUY gives us a bad name.” Because he does.

EMS volunteers are the real heroes in your communities, peoples. They are at home, watching Shark Week and, BOOM, 911 call. And, they actually leave Shark Week and come to help you out.

That’s badass.
