Man with Machete Tries to Teach Neighbors some Respect

I wish all neighbors were good neighbors. Even if they were non-existent neighbors (just mind their own business and don’t make a peep.) That’s so much better than neighbors who are just awful.

You want to come home from a hard day of work or… whatever it is that you do during the day… and not have to worry if your neighbor is going to threaten you with a machete or not.

It’s the little things in life.

A machete-wielding Bethlehem man intent on “teaching his neighbors some respect” faces charges after he refused a police order to drop the weapon, court papers say.

Police were called Tuesday evening to the 1100 block of East Fourth Street for reports of a man with a gun wearing a red hooded sweatshirt,

court papers say. There they found Horacio Vasquez, 45, leaving his home in a red hoodie and wielding a machete, authorities say.

Vasquez was ordered by police to drop the weapon, but refused, court papers say. He allegedly told police he was taking the weapon to his neighbors’ home and continued to approach officers.

Vasquez eventually complied with police orders and was taken into custody, authorities say. Officers determined he was drunk, court papers say.SOURCE: The Express-Times

Where are people getting these machetes? Whatever happened to a good threatening with a steak knife?

Besides, machetes are all slow and stuff. By the time drunk hooded guy was able to rear back and get ready to strike, you could totally just do a quick somersault out of the way and then pull his hoodie down over his face.

Red hooooded…
