Meth Dealing Former Principal Makes $4,000+ Per Month in Pension

imageIf you aren’t familiar with John Acerra’s case, head here and here.

Super quick summary: He was principal of Nitschmann Middle School in Bethlehem and was arrested because he was using and selling meth. He was found in his office and arrested. Rumors are he was naked at the time and watching porn, but, that’s unverified because whoever saw that crap probably just wants to forget about it.

In any event, he went to jail and is now released and probably trying to pull his life back together, which he surely has a right to do.

However, he’s also pulling in a pretty pensiony penny…

The former Nitschmann Middle School principal who sold crystal methamphetamine from the Bethlehem school is collecting a $4,058 monthly pension.

The Public Employees’ State Retirement System released the details of John Acerra’s pension in response to a Right-to-Know request filed by The Express-Times.

Acerra resigned as principal of Nitschmann in March 2007 shortly after his February arrest. He was released from state prison in May 2009 and is currently on probation.SOURCE: The Express-Times

Whaaaat? Thankfully, my favorite state senator of all time, Lisa Boscola, is introducing some legislation that would make this illegal.

In other news, think about this for a second. He went to prison for completely peeing on the public trust and possibly putting children in danger and yet is still pulling in a livable wage while he doesn’t do much. I’m not sure how motivated I would be to get a job if my pension was more than what I could get while making smoothies at Wawa.

Also, I always remembered how to spell “principal” because my third grade principal told me that, “Your principal is your PAL.”
