Morphine Leads Man into Orchard Accident

I guess I’m dumber than I thought I was. I was pretty sure morphine was only injected at the hospital. You can get this crap in pill form? Holy hell.

That’s pretty cool.

Oh, if you didn’t check, Alissa Thomas won the tickets to the Fegley’s Craft Beer Festival this weekend. If you didn’t win, no worries, we’ll have some more giveaways soon enough.

Bucks County man who overturned his vehicle in an orchard in a mid-October crash in Lower Saucon Township was allegedly high on morphine at the time, according to charges filed by the township police department.

Robert Jackson Jr., 51, of Northampton Township, crashed his vehicle about 11:07 p.m. Oct. 14 on Leithsville Road, near Bechtold’s Orchard. Authorities say Jackson was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle, sheering off a PPL Electric Utilities pole and then rolling about 400 feet later.

Jackson’s vehicle came to a stop on fire about 15 feet off the road, in the orchard, police report. By the time police arrived, it had been extinguished and Jackson had climbed out. He had not been wearing a seat belt, but was not injured, authorities say.

Police found a prescription bottle of morphine in the vehicle and Jackson admitted to police that he had taken a pill earlier that day. A drug test revealed Jackson’s blood was positive for morphine, police say. SOURCE: The Express-Times

I think the first thing I’d do after taking my morphine pill would be to decide which episode of Law and Order : SVU I wanted to watch on TV and which pillow was the most comfortable.

Also, when driving while high on morphine, always wear your seat belt.

Did you know that drunk people who crash their cars are less likely to be injured because their muscles go all loose instead of a sober person who would be all tightening their muscles preparing for the crash?

The more you know!
