Pittsburgh Kindergarteners Skip School To Hold Sleepover (SOMEONE’S IN TROUBLE)

Yes, this is in Pittsburgh, but it’s too darn cute not to share with you.

I figured after a week of skinned baby fox stories, I could at least bribe you a bit with this one… even though there is probably a moral in here somewhere.

The last nap time I remember was in preschool. Like pre-Kindergarten. How is that not a part of daily life now? I think we’d all be MUCH more productive with 30 minutes post lunch to lay down or meditate or listen to Enya or something…

Pittsburgh Public Schools officials are promising a security review after three kindergartners wandered away from school through an unlocked door, apparently with plans to have a sleepover at one of their homes.

Jennifer Eisel says her son Dominic was one of the 5-year-olds who left Mifflin Elementary School on Tuesday morning. Police found the kids about an hour later and Eisel tells KDKA-TV (http://cbsloc.al/YqscNk ) she arrived to find her son in the back of a squad car.

Eisel says if she fell asleep and allowed her son to wander outside she’d face criminal charges, so she thinks there should be consequences for the school employees, too. SOURCE: The Morning Call

Yeah, I’d be pretty pissed if my kid just went missing from Kindergarten because the teacher was too busy texting or something.

Whoever wants to be a Kindergarten teacher deserves it. I am all about kids learning and all, but trying to teach some body else’s kid how to read has to be teeeedious. Who has time for that?

Also, did you know that Kindergarten means “children’s garden” in German?

You do now!
