Generators are Getting Stolen All Over Lehigh Valley

Generators are great. In addition to keeping your family warm and lighting up your lamps, you can still burn fossil fuel without even getting in you car!

In fact, cars can be generators as well. I was talking with a friend of mine who went to Radio Shack and got some AC converter so that he could power his television from his car. True story. Ridiculous. But, true story.

So, in this time of need where people are starting to get antsy without power. It’s not a REAL surprise that some places are seeing generators go missing.

Someone stole a generator from Pizza Bella Restaurant in the 8700 block of Easton Road in Nockamixon Township, Pennsylvania State Police at Dublin report.

And, this one is kinda worse since people are awful at stopping at traffic lights that have no power. It’s a four-way stop, jerks.

Emmaus police are investigating the theft of two gas generators used to power traffic signals after Superstorm Sandy knocked out electricity in the borough.

Sgt. Karl Geschwindt said borough fire police hooked up the generators late Monday or early Tuesday at Seventh and Chestnut streets and at State Avenue and Ridge Street.

Fire police keep generators on hand for emergencies.

“Since the borough was without electricity, they went and did what they normally do,” Geschwindt said. “It’s something for the greater good.” SOURCE: The Express-Times

How pissed would you be if someone stole your generator? I could see some serious  fighting going on if you caught someone in the act.

I don’t have a generator. I am still living it Amish style.
