Lehighton Woman Attempts to Kill Boyfriend’s Grandmother in Couple’s Scheme (FACEBOOK PROFILES)

Chalk this up as a “ripped from the headlines” Lifetime Movie type crime.

Nothing funny here and we hope the woman who was attacked makes a full recovery.

Just insane that this is something that people actually think through and go, “Yeah, sounds like a great plan. Let’s do that.”

A 19-year-old Carbon County woman stabbed a grandmother in the neck Monday night with a paring knife she said her boyfriend gave her in a scheme to kill both of his grandparents, police said.

Marge Wertman, 63, of Blue Mountain Road, East Penn Township, was injured seriously, but survived the 8:05 p.m. attack in her kitchen, state police at Lehighton said.

Amber L. Steigerwalt (FACEBOOK PROFILE) of Lehighton and her boyfriend Jacob G. Wertman, 23, (FACEBOOK PROFILE) of Ashfield were arrested Tuesday morning and charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy.

Jacob Wertman allegedly wanted his grandparents dead to get their house and money. He had asked Steigerwalt to stab his grandmother first because he wasn’t sure he could do it to someone who raised him, police said.

WTF? How about, “Let’s rethink this whole thing?” How about… well… the sad thing here is that when people have come to this type of conclusion, there isn’t an reasoning. There isn’t any “good idea.” They have made up their collective, dark minds.

He and Steigerwalt waited for Marge Wertman in her darkened kitchen as she returned home from work, police said. Steigerwalt stabbed her as she entered the kitchen, but Jacob Wertman did not attack, police said.

Police did not provide information on Marge Wertman’s condition Tuesday. Her husband was not hurt.

Jacob Wertman and Steigerwalt were arraigned by District Judge Edward Lewis on the assault and conspiracy charges and committed to Carbon County Prison under $300,000 bail. SOURCE: The Morning Call

Well, welcome to the rest of your life in jail.

Not only did you alter the rest of your grandparent’s lives, but you effectively wrote the end to your own.

Classy.
