Husband of Fire Setting Lady Says He Didn’t Know She Was so Fiery

The husband of the lady who burned down her house, collected community donations because of it, and probably burned down a lot of other houses was like, “Whaaat? No way. My wife can’t even cook!”

As much as I don’t want to believe that this guy had no clue that his wife liked burning stuff, it’s not exactly like that’s something that’s going to come up in dinner coversation.

Firelady: “Honey, soooo, I totally want to burn down some houses.”

Husband: “You’re a crazy lunatic person. I am going to divorce you and burn our wedding certificate. Eat it.”

The husband of a Nazareth womanaccused of setting fire to the couple’s former home said he was “blindsided” by her arrest Monday.

Late Monday morning, Richard Dewey received a call from his wife of seven years, Karla Dewey, indicating she had been arrested and charged with arson after going to the Nazareth police station to meet with the chief. 

Karla Dewey is accused of setting fire to the couple’s former house March 13 in Nazareth and igniting a poster board in an office of the borough church she belongs to in 2009. She also is a person of interest in six other suspicious fires in the borough, police have said. 

“It was completely out of the blue,” Richard Dewey said today of his wife’s arrest. SOURCE: The Express-Times

If it’s true that he didn’t know, which it could totally be because women are secret keepers (secrets don’t make friends!), then I really feel bad for him regarding the community donations. He has to feel super guilty about receiving those, but, it wouldn’t have been his fault.

Hopefully his next wife doesn’t have a fondness for water. Then they’d be almost halfway to creating Captain Planet’s worst enemy ever.

I mean, you do divorce her over this, right?
