Nazareth Women Started Fire That She Collected More Than $1,000 in Gifts For
Want to have a whole community hate you? Lie about a tragedy.
It’s one thing to commit a crime, but, it’s another to purposefully trick people into giving you gifts and straight up cash because they feel bad for you only to find out that you were the one who caused it in the first place.
This one is off the charts… I’m mad and I had no idea about any of this until right now…
The fact that she knowingly scammed her entire community and then kept whatever she was given after she started said fire…. ugh… asld;fkjs;adlfjksd;alfkj WHO DOES THIS STUFF?
Karla Dewey, 30, (FACEBOOK PROFILE / MYSPACE PAGE really?) of Nazareth, was being arraigned early this afternoon on the charges.
In one case, filed Thursday, she is charged with arson, risking a catastrophe and criminal mischief.
In the other, filed Friday, she is charged with two counts of arson, causing a catastrophe, criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of children and making an unsworn falsification.
Nazareth Borough Police Chief Thomas Trachta said Dewey is accused of setting fire to her former home at 40 N. Green St.
That home burned in March. Also destroyed were 38 and 36 N. Green St., and residents at 34 and 32 N. Green St. were temporarily displaced. That fire was under investigation as an arson.

Pretty crappy, right? Well, let’s go back to right after that fire happened, shall we?
Karla Dewey and her 3-year-old son, Cole, were taking a nap when a fire ripped through their N. Green Street home. Thankfully, both were able to escape unharmed.
The March 13 blaze, however, destroyed the end unit of a row of townhouses.
Out of the five townhouses, volunteer firefighters were able to save four. The family at 40 N. Green St. — the Dewey family — lost everything.
Seeing a local family and neighbor in need, the Nazareth community — and some individuals and businesses from surrounding communities — came together and donated over $1,700 in gift cards, gift certificates and personal checks.
State Rep. Joe Emrick even dropped off three gift cards for the family. SOURCE: The Nazareth Patch
You can make a safe bet that there is a ton more to this story. Was the family in financial trouble? Did she do it for the money in the first place? Is she straight up cuhrazzzy? How does she feel about starting a fire her kid was near?
Please don’t let this stop you from helping out a family in need, you see, the odds of someone being super sick in the head, enough that they’d burn their own home to the ground and put their child’s life in danger, are thankfully pretty slim.
Wow, looks like she probably also set fire to ANOTHER place back in 2007…
This woman has some serious, serious, mental issues and hopefully she can get them corrected or she can just kinda hang out in “not allowed in society because you set stuff on fire” land.
