Man Uses Guitar as Weapon, Returns Next Day and Breaks Window

Getting arrested for beating someone with a guitar whilst in a hookah lounge is pretty bad. I mean, it’s creative, but still…

Returning the next day to said hookah lounge and breaking its window with a rock and then running from the cops to only have yourself tased on the Fahy Bridge.. that’s, well… that’s just priceless.

A Bethlehem man faces criminal charges after he allegedly shattered a window at a South Side hookah lounge and then took off running, requiring police to close a portion of the Fahy Bridge on Wednesday and fire a stun gun to bring the man into custody, according to police.

Rafael Nunez, 30, of the 800 block of Lynn Avenue in the city, allegedly threw a large rock through a front window of the Essense Hookah Lounge, 203 E. Third St., shattering the window. 

Nunez had been involved in a fight at the lounge early Monday morning with Tumba Cool, 31, of East Orange, N.J., according to police. During that scuffle, authorities say Nunez used a guitar as a weapon to strike Cool. Nunez was charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault in the fight, police report. Cool was charged with disorderly conduct.

Tumba Cool? Best name of the year so far? Unless this guy legally had his name changed, I’m going to give him the nod. 

Police Lt. Mark DiLuzio said authorities were not sure why Nunez returned to the establishment about 11 a.m. Wednesday. After he threw the rock into the window, police say Nunez refused to listen to police orders to stop. Instead, police say Nunez continued to walk away, grunting and yelling as he did.

Police closed off the northbound lanes of the Fahy Bridge for a short period to apprehend Nunez. DiLuzio said the 30-year-old became aggressive when police surrounded him and he charged a Bethlehem police officer. Police fired a stun gun at Nunez to get him under control and place him into custody, DiLuzio reported. The northbound lanes of the Fahy Bridge were opened shortly after the incident. Every once in awhile I just want to go through other people’s thought processes. So, you get arrested for Hendrixing some dude at a hookah lounge, getting charged with assault and, your first thought is to get some revenge… or something?

My first thought would be to take a nice, long, relaxing bath. Maybe put some Epsom salts in there… perhaps put on some sweet jazz music. You know, just forget the fact that I beat Tumba Cool with a guitar at a hookah lounge and try and get on with my .. interesting life.
