Drunken Driver’s Drunk Passenger Tries to Sneak From Scene in Her Car, Gets DUI

Oh alcohol, you bestest of friends and vilest of foes.

You bringing of joy and deliverer of regret.

You work of beauty and pit of repute.

The best advice you can ever take if you’re super drunk is, “stop.” Just stop whatever you’re doing and chill out. Because, the more decisions you make and actions you take, the more likely you’re going to exit the vehicle in which the driver was just stopped for a possible DUI and then try to drive home in your own car, resulting in a DUI.

Palmface city.

A man and woman face DUI charges after authorities say an intoxicated female passenger in a vehicle stopped on suspicion of drunken driving Tuesday tried to leave the scene in another vehicle in Bethlehem.

Samuel Carpenter, 37, of Breinigsville, Pa., and Patricia Zulli, 45, of the 1200 block of Birchwood Drive in Hanover Township, Northampton County, are each charged with driving under the influence at about midnight Tuesday.

Police say Carpenter was pulled over near the Beef House, 1358 Catasauqua Road, in Bethlehem, after he failed to yield to oncoming traffic. While police were investigating, Zulli exited the passenger side of the vehicle and tried to get into a nearby vehicle and drive away, police say.

Zulli did not get far, police say, before she, too, was pulled over and charged with drunken driving. SOURCE: The Express-Times

You surely remember The Beef House from our Dive Bar Confidential, do you not?

One can only hope Zulli was thinking. “Do da do, if I just tiptoe over to my car the police will never know I was here!”

Unfortunately, police are usually sober when they pull over drunk people, so they are kinda attentive to the whole “someone trying to get away while we’re standing here” sort of thing.
