Guy Makes “Political Statement” By Telling Banks They are Being Robbed

I love protests because it gives people the chance to pretend that they are better than other people.

Let’s take this exact instance, for example. This man, who probably isn’t a “criminal” per se, takes a sign down to dowtown Easton which says “You’re being robbed” or something to that effect. He takes it into a bank and HOLY CRAP HE GETS ARRESTED.

But, everyone is like “Yes, the banks are the criminals here. They are the ones who are really robbing the American people! I am so good. I am so great. Look at my words.”

Bottom line, if this guy didn’t know he was going to be arrested he is kinda stupid.

A man who police believed was on his way to rob a bank this morning in Downtown Easton was taken into custody at the Bank of America at 101 Larry Holmes Drive

The man, who police could not immediately identify, came to the attention of city police about 10:20 this morning when callers reported he was telling people, including a teller, at the Wells Fargo Bank in Centre Square that he wanted to rob a bank, policesaid.

As police began to search for him, the man went to the Bank of America, where he held up a sign that said, “you’re being robbed,” and made several statements about abuses by the banking industry, police said. SOURCE: The Express-Times

You don’t like banks? Good for you. In fact, awesome. I’m glad that you care about something in the world because a lot of people don’t. Also, if people never did something like this, it’d be pretty crappy. We’re a better country when people get upset and protest.

However, when doing something like this you have to also think about the outcome. So, you go in with a sign like this and the poor teller who is working there  has a heart attack because she thinks you’re robbing her, right?

Also, the people who you’d maybe want to get the point out to, the CEO or the managers and shit, they aren’t going to see this. They don’t care.

But, I guess at the end of the day someone noticed you. However, the weight of the stupidity behind the protest takes away from the protest in general.

If you’re going to protest, the best thing to do is make it so they can’t arrest you. Go somewhere public and be like, “I am going to eat all of these double cheeseburgers unless you stop charging such high interest rates! Argh.”

Remember the Occupy Lehigh Valley protests and when they were like, “We’re never leaving!!!” and then they left? That was fun.
