Pit Bull thrown from Car and Abandoned in Allentown
I’m not a huge fan of pit bulls, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like them. That also doesn’t mean they should be thrown from cars. With the proper owners, pit bulls can be fine dogs.
It’s the jerks who raise their pit bulls to wear baggy doggy pants and carry doggy guns with the serial numbers filed off that are the problem.
Sure, they are a “status” dog for all the wrong reasons amongst some levels of our society. And, some levels of society shouldn’t have pets, let alone have 57 children.
That’s a debate for another day.
An animal welfare organization is trying to identify two men who were seen throwing a dog out of a car on Route 309 between Tilghman Street and Route 22 in South Whitehall Township about 2:30 p.m. Friday.
The Association for Animal Protection Legislation hopes to identify the men through the dog by releasing a photo and description of the red, un-neutered male boxer and pit bull mix.
The dog has white coloring on his chest and nose, does not appear to have been used for fighting and is “friendly, good with people and appears to have a good disposition,” a news release from the organization said.
According to the news release, two men in a dark-colored, older model Honda sedan stopped on Route 309 and threw dog down a steep embankment into a ditch. The dog was initially dazed, lethargic and disoriented, but mostly he was tired. Once he was rescued, all he wanted to do was sleep, according to the organization.
The dog’s eyes and ears required some medical attention, but he was in general good health.

It’d be nice if they actually included the picture of the dog after they wrote about it. But, hey, we’re just splitting hairs here, right?
My favorite dogs are cocker spaniels, probably because they look so doofy.
I also like greyhounds, but holy hell they are huge and they have a really hard time backing up in a tight space.
Don’t forget, Musikfest starts Friday and we have tons of prizes to give away in the Musikfest Photo Scavenger Hunt. All you need is a camera.
