Man Fires Gun Inside Starters Riverport Parking Garage (FACEBOOK PROFILE)

A few months ago, we talked about how Starters Riverport started out with such promise and has quickly turned into a little pocket of ridiculous crime and, honestly, unwanted clientele.

We also questioned how long it would take for something really bad to happen for the city to crack down and Starter’s to realize that while they want to make a buck and have entertainment, the kind of climate they are bringing in isn’t, exactly… well, let’s just say no one I know has said “Let’s go to Starter’s” on a weekend in the last two years.

Directly because of this bullshit.

An Allentown man was arrested early Sunday morning after Bethlehem police say he fired a gun inside the Starters Riverport garage. 

Mendez Niles, 24, (FACEBOOK PROFILE) of the 600 block of North Seventh Street, fired his gun into the air during an argument with his girlfriend at 2:18 a.m. inside the West Second Street garage, city police said. 

Niles was attempting to leave the garage when police arrived, but he was pulled over on suspicion of drunken driving, police said. Inside his car, police found his gun and a spent round, they said. 

Niles was charged with prohibitive discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and drunken driving. He was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $35,000 bail. SOURCE: The Express-Times

I don’t even have anything funny to quip here. Get rid of this garbage. I know, I know, there is crime all over the place and Sands has crime and other bars on the Southside has crime. But, Starters is almost like the Wild West. At least at the Sands, I know that their security team is trained to handle some pretty hairy situations. 

I would NEVER bring someone to this place on a weekend. Never. However, Starter’s seems to think this is the future of bars or something.

It just seems to me that the owners don’t care about these problems. If they did, they’d be making some sort of change. 

Whatever. Have a blast. I’m also glad this guy loves Starters so much he has it as his cover photo. Whatever. Time to lock this crap down.
