Two Lehigh Valley EMTs Help Save Woman From Rape Attempt!

Who says there is only bad news in the Lehigh Valley? Well, this isn’t exactly “good” news, but it’s a prime example of someone doing the right thing.

This is a prime example of someone doing the WRONG THING….

These men should be congratulated and celebrated. However, I bet they are the type of people who would say that they were only doing their job.

Two emergency medical technicians who saw a man dragging a woman into a vehicle outside a Bethlehem Township hotel Tuesday night intervened and called police, who arrested the man.

Yuange Gao, 43, of Indianapolis was sent to Northampton County Prison under $250,000 bail on charges he earlier raped and sexually assaulted the 38-year-old woman in the hotel.

The EMTs, who transport patients for St. Luke’s University Hospital, were driving near Marriott Courtyard hotel, off Freemansburg Avenue and Route 33, about 10 p.m. when they saw a man dragging a woman into a vehicle as she was pushing, kicking, screaming and crying.

When they questioned the man, he said he wasn’t doing anything wrong, and he drove back to the hotel with the woman. The EMTs then called police.

Bethlehem Township police responded and found Gao had numerous defensive wounds, including scratches and bite marks on his neck, face and shoulder, and the woman had red marks on her face.

The woman told police she and Gao were traveling together and on their way home to Indiana from New York City when they got a room so they could rest. After sharing a meal in the room, she said, Gao stripped her and raped her. SOURCE: The Morning Call

To be clear, these EMTs were just DRIVING by, saw something going wrong and did the right thing. They weren’t called to the scene. They weren’t requested. They were just driving by and stopped something that they knew was wrong.

Good job, EMTs! Made me really proud to live in the Lehigh Valley today.
