Nazareth Man Paralyzes Wife, Attempts to Kill Self (FACEBOOK PROFILE)

After writing about some of the seedier sides of society, to a degree, for some time now, it seems that violent crimes all come down to either money, drugs, or jealousy.

Or you happen to be on crack.

I’m not saying that this crime was caused by any of the three, however, it’s hard to argue that any domestic case isn’t spurred by one of them.

And, again, if you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, please do something about it. Contact Turning Point of the LV.

Nazareth man choked his wife so hard Sunday that she remains paralyzed, police said, and after the attack he attempted suicide, leaving a bloody message on their shower wall.

Police said they believe Jason K. Gruver (FACEBOOK PROFILE) thought he had killed his wife, Maria Gruver, during an argument in the home they share at 454 Union St. She called 911, saying her husband had grabbed her around the throat with his hands and squeezed, court records say.

Maria Gruver, 27, is now paralyzed and suffered a fractured vertebrae in the attack, police said.

One of the weird aspects of this case is that Maria Gruver called 911 and it was handled by the State Police, since it was placed before the borough takes up its shift at 6 p.m. So, the borough police didn’t even KNOW about this crime, for some reason, until 10:40 p.m.

I’m not sure if this means that anyone could have reacted to the call any faster, but it does bring up some question about communication.
