Wilson Woman In Slow Speed Chase With Kid in Car (FACEBOOK PROFILE)

This week’s “Better Parenting” Award goes to a woman who decided to flee from cops with a kid in her car.

I only ever fled from a cop once. I was probably 16 and went through an area in my hometown that was notorious for speed traps. I was totally speeding and saw the cop out of the corner of my eye. Knowing full well he was going to come after me, I decided to floor it, get around the bend and veer off on some back road.

It ALMOST worked, too.

A woman charged with a robbery and assault in Wilson led police on a slow-speed pursuit Thursday afternoon with a 9-year-old child inside the car, police said.

Rebecca Johnson, 28, (FACEBOOK PROFILE) received minor injuries when police said she refused to stop her vehicle and officers had to shatter a window. The child - who was inside the car during the pursuit - was not injured and is in the care of a relative, police said.

Charges are pending against Johnson for the pursuit, police said. Officers were attempting to arrest Johnson on charges stemming from an incident Jan. 15 at a home in the 2400 block of Hillside Ave., police said.

Around 4:30 p.m., police said they were in the area of Woodmont Circle to arrest Johnson.

When officers identified themselves to Johnson, she drove away from them, going over a curb and through a grassy area.

Johnson drove through Palmer Township before heading back south into the borough. Police said she returned to the Woodmont Circle area and briefly stopped her vehicle before attempting to flee again.

When Johnson refused to open her vehicle door, police shattered the window. SOURCE: The Morning Call

I’d HATE to start off my summer in jail. I guess the winter wouldn’t be awful, only because you know it’s crappy outside so, whatever, you’re at least getting some free food. But, the summer? Knowing all your non criminal friends are having fun and swimming about and stuff.

That’s gotta be a downer…

Hey, if anything, her kid will have a sweet “what I did on my summer vacation” story when he or she heads back to school!
