The Hamburger Stand Arsoned!!!

If you don’t already know The Hamburger Stand, on Hanover Ave in East Allentown, then you’re out of luck, because it got burninated by somebody! Someone who obviously has a grudge against locally owned and operated fast food joints!

Now, I didn’t go to the Hamburger Stand in the last few years, nor can I even remember if it was good. However, I do know that it was an interesting departure from the regular national fast food chains in the area.

So, the fact that it was hit with arson is a bit sad.

A two-alarm fire this weekend that gutted The Hamburger Stand restaurant on S. Fourth Street in Allentown has been ruled an arson, according to city fire officials.

Capt. Lee Laubach said the ruling is preliminary pending further testing at the state police crime lab, but all evidence points to the fire being intentionally set inside the building.

He said possible accidental causes, such as electrical, have been ruled out. The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire.

Firefighters responded around 6:30 a.m. Saturday to the restaurant in the 1700 block of S. Fourth St. to find flames shooting from the roof and billowing smoke.

Six engine companies and two ladder companies responded, and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze after about an hour.

No injuries reported, but the building sustained extensive damage to the roof and first floor.

This is obviously the work of the Hamburglar, who, unsatisfied with stealing Ronald McDonald’s Big Macs, decided to take down the Hamburger Stand in an effort to prove dominance over the fast food subculture.

I’d be on the lookout for that man above.

Oh, don’t click on it, totally doesn’t do anything… just figured I’d make sure who you should be looking for.
