Easton’s Centre Square Water Fountain Bubble Bombed!

There is a new water fountain in front of the Bank of America Buildling in Bethlehem at the corner of New and Broad streets that occassionally are filled with foam. The bubbles fly away in the wind and people actually stop and take a look at them. I’m pretty confident that it’s an intentional thing, since there aren’t way too many bubbles and since people seem to enjoy it and it happens regularly.

The bubbles that suspiciously, um, bubbled up, in Easton’s Centre Square water fountain, however, ARE CRIMINAL!!!!!! RAR!!!!!

The fountain in Centre Square was filled with bubbles at about 11:30 Monday night.

Officers at the scene were unsure what was poured into the fountain to create the foam, but noted that it smelt like bubble bath. Neither officer could recall a similar occurrence there in recent history.

A few passersby noticed the foam when it began and recounted what they saw.

“We walked up and it got bigger while we were sitting here,” said Kelsey Rockware (Ah, what the heck, Facebook Page), 19, of Glen Gardner. “It got huge while we were watching.”

The officers, who noticed the foam while driving by, said there were no suspects in the prank. Such an offense would warrant a charge of criminal mischief, they added. Source

Not a big mystery to me. When homeless people need a bath, they need a bath. And if one of them happened across some 99 cent bubble bath and was able to make that bath a bit more enjoyable, then I say “awesome.”

This MAY be the first story in six years that included center city Easton and did not have the words “gun” “fire” or “gunfire.”
