You Can’t Rain on Musikfest! (Also, The Pan Flutists Want Our Women)

So, without fail, there are already those out there who are all worried about if it’s going to rain or not during Musikfest and they are also saying how there isn’t enough money for vendors and platzes and that there may be cut backs and SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!

But while the unusually mild and wet summer is the biggest threat to the 10-day festival set to begin Friday, the bleak national economy and the unresolved state budget could alter Musikfests well into the future.

Musikfest, like other regional and national festivals, is trying to maintain a full complement of shows and amenities during a deep recession. Some of those festivals have already had to cut back. Meanwhile, Musikfest could lose up to two ”platzes” worth of state dollars if one proposal in Harrisburg, which eliminates funding for the
Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, makes its way into the final state budget.

For the immediate future, the signs are somewhat hopeful. Meteorologist Kristin Kline at the National Weather Service’s Mount Holly, N.J., office said the region’s weather should revert to its usual patterns for this time of year — temperatures in the low to mid 80s and the typical 30 percent chance of pop-up thunderstorms any day.

Ok, first of all, I can see not wanting to bring your family, equipped with the double stroller, if it’s going to pour all day. Fair enough. (AND on a side note, if you plan to go to Musikfest with your little shitkneed kids and decide to bring one of those double-WIDE strollers, please take this opportunity to go fuck yourself. Use a leash or a stroller that sits the kids in a straight line, not side to side like you own the fucking sidewalk.)

However, so what if it rains? Go anyway. Just fucking go and put your kids in a hotel for the day and lock the door. What’s the big fucking deal? OR if you’re going to bitch about it and worry, then just don’t go at all.

Honestly, I’ll have to say that I didn’t take the time to read through the entire article. I’m sure that there are many financial burdens that are going to have to be taken into account during the festival and if there have to be a few cutbacks, then so fucking be it. Cutbacks are a way of life that will not be avoided during a time of economic concern. That should not cause you to already be bitching about it.

Just enjoy it.

Seriously. Quit being a bunch of whiney bitches and go have fun and if you get wet then you can just sue God or something.

And if they are going to have cutbacks on shit, then get rid of the guys who play the pan flute on Main Street by the Hotel Bethlehem.

During one Musikfest there was a lady who lived in the same apartment complex as two of my friends and she apparently took one of the Indian Pan Flutists home one night. My friend SWORE you could hear some pan flutely sounds coming from her apartment across the way, culminating in cries of joy. If those pan fluted bastards think they can take all of our lonely divorced mothers of two three, they have another thing coming.
