Hawthorne House Arsoned!!!!!

So, the Hawthorne House in Bethlehem burned down over the weekend. Eh, it was on OK bar before the previous owner sold it to some douche who kinda made it suck by offering more events toward young people (read: DJs) and taking away a bit from the niche Bethlehem neighborhood charm it used to have.

I have no problem with young people, don’t get me wrong, I think I still may be one, but when you go to a bar regularly you get a feel for it and it sucks if that “ambiance” changes. So, Hawthorne basically went from a good ole boy type bar to one that those girls who are too fat but still wear tube tops started going to. 

It was a decent place to watch a game on a Sunday provided you didn’t want to go with 50 of your friends. The food was marginally good and the crowd was pretty big on Friday and Saturdays.

It was what it was though, a small town bar that had a bit of nostalgia to it.

Oh, yeah, looks like someone might have burned it down to cash in on some insurance money!!!

A  fire early Saturday that damaged a Bethlehem bar and restaurant has been ruled an arson, according to fire officials.

The fire began just before 3 a.m. at the Hawthorne Bar and Grill, 702 Hawthorne Road. No one was injured in the fire, said Bethlehem fire marshall Robert Novatnack.

He said police and fire officials are investigating the blaze.

He said the fire began in a second-floor office. He said two people live in apartments on the second floor, which were also damaged.

The damage estimate is $250,000, Novatnack said. He said the bar and restaurant has been closed.

According to Northampton County property records the business is owned by Margetis and Margetis, which uses the restaurant’s addres its business address. The property was purchased in September 2008 for $480,000. Source

OHhhh the MYSTERY!!!!!! Who did it?!?!?!?

Suspicious that the fire started in an upstairs office and not somewhere you’d expect a fire in a bar/restaurant to start like, say, the kitchen?!?!?

Suspicious because business supposedly wasn’t doing so well in the last few months and this is an easy out and payday for the owner if needed?!@?!?!?!?!

Suspicious because it’s a fucking arson!?!?!??!!?!
