Former Bangor Coach Accused of Pulling Kids Out of Class to Smoke

Brad Washburn is a student’s teacher. You know, the one that is really in the thick of it with you. Helping you study. Giving you pot. Making sure you’re getting good grades. Discussing oxy with you. Wearing nice clothes. Wearing some sort of brown Carhart overalls.

So, when a fellow Bangor employee, teacher Gina Riso, was found dead at his Bethlehem apartment due to a heroin overdose, it was only a matter of time until kids started talking.

Washburn, whose Facebook is curiously only filled with him having fun with family children (wonder if that’s to appeal to the whole cuddly side of the court), really shoulda kept his drug use to himself.

One student told authorities the 30-year-old pulled him out of class so they could smoke marijuana together in Washburn’s Volkswagen, according to court records. Another student told authorities Washburn repeatedly sold marijuana to him and recommended he use OxyContin, describing it as “his drug of choice,” records say.

Several students told authorities they used or purchased drugs fom Washburn on school property or at athletic functions, records say. Some of the same students told authorities they watched college wrestling at Washburn’s Bethlehem apartment and used a “gravity bong” to smoke marijuana, records say. Source

This is one of those “REALLLY? How long did you think this could go on?” type of things.

Either the guy is just THAT stupid or he didn’t care.

At any rate… I don’t think he’ll be coaching wrestling anytime soon, and that’s a shame because pot really gets you ready to roll around with dudes.
